Margaret has extensive experience in all aspects of the dissolution process, including complex child custody issues, valuation and division of assets, including equity grants, real property and closely-held businesses, assessment of child and spousal support, and tracing of separate property reimbursement claims. In addition to handling complex litigation matters, she is skilled at assisting clients through mediation as a consulting attorney in the firm’s mediated cases.
Prior to joining Bechtel Zambrano Baluyot Family Law Group, LLP, Margaret worked for several years at Flicker Kerin Kruger & Bissada LLP in Menlo Park, CA, representing high net-worth individuals in their dissolution matters. Earlier in her career, Margaret worked as an attorney in the environmental department of a civil litigation defense law firm in Orange County, litigating products liability/exposure cases. Her civil litigation background has given Margaret a strong foundation and advantage in handling discovery disputes and law and motion practice. Margaret is also highly skilled at settlement, finding that the best outcomes are usually those that are obtained outside of court. Therefore, she seeks to explore all reasonable settlement options, where and when possible.
Margaret has been recognized as a Northern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2019, a recognition only awarded to the top 2.5% of lawyers in California.
