Melina Torres

Melina handles all aspects of complex marital dissolution actions, including child custody, domestic violence, and property division. Her ability to engage with clients during difficult situations as well as her legal research and writing skills make her a strong advocate.

Melina was born and raised in San Jose, California. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree at UC Santa Barbara, Melina attended Santa Clara University where she received her Juris Doctor degree. As a law student, Melina dedicated her time advocating for local communities, including volunteering at the Katherine and George Alexander Community Law Center, where she assisted with U-Visa, VAWA, and DACA applications. She also assisted with guardianship for juveniles in the immigration system. Her zealous advocacy skills led her to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, where she argued for a detained individual who was denied asylum. Melina also interned at the San Jose City Attorney’s Office, where she worked on land use and housing development projects.
